Terms of Service
RushTown is free to play and needs an internet connection. Play fair, be kind in chat, and pick a name that is your own. Coins, rush tokens and items are part of the game and have no money value. If something goes wrong, report it in the game or email us; you can always ask us to look at a decision again.
Who we are and these terms
RushTown is made by Jaimie Vranckx, an independent developer based in Antwerp, Belgium ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you play RushTown and use its online features, such as alliances, chat, rankings and events. By playing, you agree to them. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old to play. If you are under 18, please read these terms with a parent or guardian.
Your account
- The first time you play online, the game creates a guest account tied to your phone. If you link your Google Play Games profile, you can keep your company when you change phones. If you don't, losing or resetting your phone means losing your company.
- Writing in chat needs a linked Google Play Games profile.
- One company per phone is played at a time. Opening the game on a second phone takes over the session.
- You can delete your account at any time in the game (Settings โ Account โ Delete account) or by email.
The game and your items
- Coins, rush tokens, speed-ups, boosters and every other item are part of the game. They have no money value, can't be exchanged for money, and can't be sold, bought or traded outside the game.
- We keep improving RushTown, so things change: prices, timers, rewards and features. While the game is in testing, progress can sometimes be reset; the game tells you when that happens.
- The game needs an internet connection. We do our best to keep the server running, but it can be down for maintenance or problems; the game shows a notice when it is.
- RushTown shows optional ads you can choose to watch for a reward. They are never needed to progress.
Buying packs
- You can buy packs in the game with real money. Payment goes through Google Play under its terms, and the price shown at Google Play's checkout is the price you pay.
- Each pack shows what's in it before you buy. Its contents are added to your account as soon as Google confirms the payment, which needs an internet connection. Some packs can be bought only once per account.
- Packs are digital content delivered straight away. When you buy one, you ask us to deliver it at once and agree that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once it is delivered. Your other rights as a consumer, such as getting what the pack promised, are not affected.
- If something you bought doesn't arrive or doesn't work, email us with the order number from your Google Play receipt (it starts with GPA.) and we will deliver it or refund it. You can also ask Google Play for a refund under its refund policy.
- If a payment is refunded or reversed, we can remove what the pack gave you.
- Under 18? Ask a parent or guardian before you buy anything.
Fair play
Don't cheat. That means no modified versions of the game, bots, scripts or tools that play for you, no tricks with your phone's clock, and no using bugs to get coins, tokens, items or ranks. Please report bugs you find instead.
The server checks saves. If something doesn't add up, we can remove you from rankings and events, take back what was gained unfairly, reset your progress or, in serious or repeated cases, close your account.
Company and alliance names
Company and alliance names may not use brand names or other people's names, or pretend to be RushTown staff. We can change such a name without notice. Names must also follow the chat rules below. If we change your name, you get a free rename.
Chat rules
You accept these rules before your first chat message. They apply to alliance chat, private chats, group chats and chat requests.
- Be kind. No insults, hate, threats or sexual talk.
- Keep it in the game. No phone numbers, emails, links or invites to other apps.
- Keep it private. Don't share anyone's real name, address or school, not even your own.
- No spam or ads, no brand names, and don't pretend to be someone else or RushTown staff.
- Private chats, group chats and chat requests follow the same rules. You can decline, block or report anyone.
- See something wrong? Report it. We read every report.
- Breaking the rules can mute your chat, close it, or close your account.
Private chats are only possible with friends (both added) and members of your own alliance. Someone you haven't chatted with before has to send a chat request first, which you can accept, decline or block. You can turn private messages off in the game's settings.
Reporting and moderation
- How to report. Use the report button on a message, a player or an alliance in the game. You can also report anything you think is illegal, or that breaks these terms, by emailing support@rushtowngame.com. Please say what it is, where you saw it (the player, alliance or message, and when), why you think it breaks the rules or the law, and your name and email. We handle reports quickly, carefully and without bias.
- How we moderate. A word filter blocks contact details, links and abusive words before messages are sent. A message that several players report is hidden automatically until someone reviews it. Reviews and decisions are made by a person.
- What we can do. Remove a message, mute chat for 24 hours or 7 days, close chat for an account, reset a name (with a free rename), remove progress gained unfairly, or close an account.
- Telling you why. When we act on your account or content, we tell you in your in-game Mail what we did, which rule it broke, whether a report, our filter or an automatic step was involved, and how to appeal. These messages stay in your Mail for about 6 months, and you can't delete them by mistake. If we close your account, the game shows the same message when you open it.
- Appeals. If you think we got it wrong, email us within 6 months with your player ID (in the game under Settings โ Account), and a person will look at it again. You can also use an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the EU Digital Services Act, or go to court.
Contact point
Our single point of contact for players and for authorities, including under the EU Digital Services Act, is support@rushtowngame.com. You can write to us in English or Dutch.
Ending your account
You can stop playing and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we will tell you why. If we ever stop running RushTown's online service, we will announce it in the game and on our Discord well in advance.
Our responsibility
RushTown is a free game that is still being developed, provided as it is. We do our best to keep it running and fair, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for lost progress or items, or for what other players say or do. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we update this page and the date above, and the game lets you know. If the chat rules change, the game asks you to accept them again before your next message.
Law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your own country, and you can go to the courts there.
